About Mark Johnson (1946-2004)

Well known for his persuasive style, Mark’s leadership, perseverance and good humor helped save the Dallas Ad League at one of its lowest points. Mark was instrumental during his presidential term from 1997-1998 in revitalizing Ad League programs and bringing the DAL back to financial solvency. Under his guidance and care, the DAL once again became a vital force for advertising in the Southwest. Mark retired in 2002 as the Southwest Region Advertising Manager of the Wall Street Journal after 21 years of service. He was a long time advocate and active volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America.

2010 Winner: 

Jennifer LaFond

Jennifer LaFond, Owner of JLa Creative Management, supplies commercial photographers to agencies and corporations for a wide array of projects. Jennifer's involvement in the DAL began in 2005 supporting the Dallas ADDYS. In 2009 she became the chairperson of the prestigious ADDYS award show. Jennifer joined the DAL Board in 2008 and currently holds the Volunteer chair position in addition to her annual support of the DAL ADDY awards. Jennifer's current chairperson position has her overseeing volunteer recruitment, coordination and volunteer support for all DAL committees. Jennifer works to insure that all of the wonderful volunteers and creative work gets the respect and attention deserved. Her drive is based on her desire. To create, promote, and ultimately elevate the Dallas Advertising community.

2009 Winner: 

Angelo Antoline

Angelo Antoline is the Founder, President, and Creative Director of mundayMorning. Angelo’s involvement in the DAL began in 2006. In late 2007 his agency got the call to create the communications for the 100-Year Anniversary Celebration held in June 2008. Angelo became a Board Member (MarCom Chair) in 2008. Angelo was responsible for all of the communications for the league as well as cultivating the brand and communicating to the members and the Dallas community at large. Angelo works tirelessly and with the help of the other Board members, strives to make sure the DAL communications stay ahead of the curve.

2008 Winner: 

Gayle Boone

Gayle Boone is a Partner at Beaird & Boone Marketing. In 2008 when Gayle joined the DAL, she and her membership team made it their goal to double the membership of the DAL. She committed countless hours of her time to focus on the growth of the organization through the creation and deliberate execution of a corporate membership strategy. In addition to her commitment to the Dallas Ad League, Gail also served on the board of the DREAM Fund, demonstrating her continued support of the entire community.

2007 Winner: 

Michael Tuggle

Michael Tuggle, Executive Creative Director of The Loomis Agency, was awarded the 2006–2007 Member of the Year Award by the Dallas Ad League for his exceptional leadership. Michael’s effort in managing all aspects of The Eagle Award Show for the past two years have been an inspiration to all members. Countless hours of time and effort was spent by Michael to ensure that this marquee event was a success.

2006 Winner: 

Sean Jackson

In 2005, Sean brought his tremendous knowledge of the Internet to the development and maintenance of the DAL website and database. He worked tirelessly to make the DAL website into a useful tool for our members and worked with key people to maintain a database that now serves as a crucial communication tool. Sean is always up to date on the latest improvements and is constantly updating the database and website. The DAL website has become a huge part of the club and Sean has been tireless in his efforts to keep up with the myriad of requests for changes, content additions, updates and email requests, all at his own expense and time.

2005 Winner: 

Frank Kopec

Frank Kopec has been on the board of directors of the League since 1998. During his tenure Frank has created and chaired innovative offerings like Magazine Day, the Student Tour and an advertising career program for high school students used today in Plano High Schools. He has also played integral roles in DAL Luncheons, DAL sports tournaments, and was Co-Chair of the AAF National Conference last year. Perhaps Frank’s biggest accomplishment was personally selling and managing all of the fundraising for the AdRoast. Since its inception, Frank’s performance has resulted in over $250,000 for the DAL Foundation and the Dream Fund.
